Let’s get Composting!
For many, recycling has become automatic, however reducing food waste through composting remains a challenge. Residents of public housing and multi-family buildings especially need more support from the District’s recycling and food waste reduction programs.
40 percent of our food goes to waste, the problem of food insecurity is particularly pronounced in the District of Columbia where 13.2 percent of all households were food insecure from 2013 – 2015. And many households of public housing and multi-family buildings still lack access to convenient food waste collection services.
Take action! And tell Mayor Bowser you support investing in the District's recycling and composting programs.
