Over 50 NJ towns have passed local ordinances to limit single-use plastics. While a bill (S864/A1978) has been proposed in the NJ legislature to ban all single-use carryout bags and styrofoam containers, and require that single-use plastic straws are only served upon request, it is not guaranteed to pass.
We need to build support and momentum by ratifying more local ordinances to ban single-use plastics.
Contact your local government to ask them to introduce and pass a local plastics ordinance in your town!
