Virtual Conversation: December 17, 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM
Join Clean Water Action and the Marylanders for Food and Farmworker Protection for three Thursday afternoon conversations about food and farmworkers. The third conversation will highlight how sick workers jeopardize the food supply, including how in April nearly 2 million chickens on the Eastern Shore were slaughtered and disposed of instead of being sent to meatpacking plants due to coronavirus-related staffing shortages. Join Maria Payan of the Socially Responsible Agricultural Project as we talk about reducing the spread of coronavirus by improving food and farmworker protections will safeguard our food supply.
The other conversations in the series will be:
December 3rd: Social Justice with Leila Borrero Krouse of CATA's Farmworker Support Committee
December 10th: Public Health with Amy Liebman of the Migrant Clinicians Network
December 17th: Food Supply with Maria Payan of the Socially Responsible Agricultural Project
