Friend, We hope that you and your family are staying safe and healthy this holiday season. This year has been challenging for all of us with more wildfires, more hurricanes, the rollbacks of so many bedrock environmental laws and the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite all of the hurdles that 2020 brought, like not having our organizers in the field talking to people face to face, we are so grateful to our members and supporters that have seen us through this year. Our victories in 2020 hinged on the support of Clean Water members like you! We knew 2020 was going to be an important year, but no one expected the year that we had. Despite these setbacks, our team made incredible strides to protect our water, health and environment in Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay. We hope we can count on your support again today. In Baltimore City, we passed legislation to restrict chlorpyrifos, neonicotinoids, and glyphosate which harm pollinators, people and aquatic life. The Maryland General Assembly passed a ban on chlorpyrifos, a highly toxic pesticide, and we are now advocating to restrict the use of pesticides in certified solar pollinator habitats in Montgomery County. Read more about our accomplishments to protect our pollinators and waterways in Maryland, including helping to elect a new Mayor and pro-environment leaders in Baltimore. Despite our victories this year, we know there is still a lot of work to be done. I’m reaching out today to ask that you join us as we continue the fight for a clean water future for all Marylanders. Your year-end gift will help Clean Water Action continue fighting for our drinking water and the Chesapeake Bay. |
