RSVP here to join us for the 2nd virtual town hall in our #MIWaterMIFuture series on Thursday, May 14th at 7 PM!
In late 2018 (during the chaotic and undemocratic lame duck session) the Michigan legislature passed HB 4205. Nicknamed “No Stricter Than Federal”, this bill prohibited state agencies from adopting or creating rules that are stricter than federal standards unless exceptional circumstances could be demonstrated. The bill was signed into law by then-Governor Snyder.
As the Trump administration has continued to roll back environmental regulations and attacks on the Clean Water Act, the need for states – particularly Michigan with our unique water resources and Great Lakes - to retain the right to respond to our challenges is essential.
Join Clean Water Action, State Representative Laurie Pohutsky, State Representative Jon Hoadley, Clean Water Action National Campaigns Director Lynn Thorp, and other panelists to learn about Michigan's current regulatory environment, the impacts of this legislation, and efforts in Michigan to repeal it.
This town hall will be conducted over Zoom, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions as well.
Please RSVP below as space is limited! A Zoom invitation link will be sent to your email prior to the town hall.
We look forward to seeing you there!
