Digging in to Lead Service Line Replacement
November 10th, 2021 | 7 PM CST
Join Steve Schultz, Clean Water Action's Minnesota Water Program Coordinator, our next Water Action Wednesday briefing: Digging Into Lead Service Line Replacement. Learn more about why lead is bad for our health, how it gets into our water, who it affects, what Clean Water Action is doing to protect public health and make progress for environmental justice - and what you can do.
The risk of lead poisoning falls disproportionately on Black children who are nearly three times more likely than white children to have elevated blood-lead levels. Some of the health impacts include attention difficulties, behavior changes, lowered IQ, and overall slowed development which can lead to lifelong inequities. It's long past time Minnesota gets the lead out of our water once and for all!
This is the sixth in our Minnesota Water Action Wednesday series of townhall briefings. See the full calendar and watch previous events at cleanwater.org/WaterActionWednesday.
