The Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) has proposed new air pollution rules to require plants in the Mon Valley to reduce pollution during episodes of dangerous air quality.
U.S. Steel puts out more pollution than all the cars and trucks in Allegheny County combined! Some U.S. Steel coke batteries are almost 70 years old – and still don’t have to comply with today’s pollution standards. Forcing U.S. Steel to invest in fixing up their plant not only will protect our health but will keep workers there on the job.
Take Action! Contact ACHD and your Allegheny County Council representatives and let them know what we think about these new rules.
