Environmental Justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies.
There is no shortage of examples throughout Pennsylvania where low income and communities of color bear a disproportionate environmental burden of pollution from environmental racism. Legislation was introduced in the State House and State Senate to help address this issue by uplift Environmental Justice communities and empowering their residents.
