U.S. Steel’s operations in the Mon Valley are the source of pollution problems that have impacted the health and well being of nearby communities. Renewal of the Edgar Thomson Works’ Title V Operating Permit is currently out for public comment. This permit requires U.S. Steel to take necessary steps to ensure the facility complies with the Clean Air Act and Allegheny County’s Air Pollution Control. We need to use this opportunity to improve operations so they don’t continue to affect residents’ health and our environment.
Take action! Email the Allegheny County Health Department TODAY and tell them to use the renewal of the Title V Operating Permit to put greater restrictions on the Edgar Thomson Works.
