The petrochemical lobby has made a plastics mess, and now they want to make it even bigger. They are pushing legislation through the Rhode Island General Assembly - House Bill 8089 - that would allow companies to build high-heat plastics-burning facilities without proper oversight.
These facilities would emit toxic air pollution, have damaging climate impacts, and WON’T actually recycle plastic. Don’t let the legislature make it easier for them to pollute Rhode Island!
Take action! Contact your state legislators and the governor right now. Tell them to oppose H8089.
